Locations in Spybluff
13 themes and 218 locations
In every Spybluff case all players except the spy get a dossier with the same secret location. The host picks a theme and the game draws a place from it at random, unless the host picks one. The spy only sees the theme name, so the better you know every location, the easier it is to bluff or to spot someone else’s bluff.
Below is every theme with its full list of locations. Each theme page also lists the cover roles for every place. If that is not enough, the host can create up to five custom themes with 1 to 30 locations each.
Spies · 24 locations
The classic noir set: casinos, private jets, masked balls and secret labs. These places feel like a thriller, so agents can ask about dress codes, stakes and who is watching whom, while the spy has to sound like someone who belongs at the table.
Locations: Casino, Yacht, Express, Opera, Chalet, Lair, Embassy, Nightclub, Auction, Jazz bar, Jet, Vault, Grand Prix, Tropics, Lab, Hotel, Poker, Tailor, Masquerade, Arctic, Submarine, Winery, Premiere, Docks.
City · 20 locations
Everyday places everyone has visited: the bank, the pharmacy, the gym, the post office. Because every player knows them well, answers have to be careful. One detail about queues or uniforms can give the whole place away.
Locations: School, Hospital, Police, Supermarket, Subway, Gym, Restaurant, Library, Office, Gas station, Bank, Post office, Barbershop, Laundromat, Cinema, Court, Garage, Pharmacy, Cafe, Fire station.
Vacation · 18 locations
Beaches, cruises, ski resorts and road trips. Questions about packing, weather and what you did last summer work well here, and the spy can often bluff through with a vague story about a nice trip.
Locations: Beach, Camping, Cruise, Airport, Water park, Theme park, Zoo, Mountains, Spa, Safari, Ski resort, Hostel, Road trip, Festival, Fishing, Diving, Sanatorium, Cable car.
Showbiz · 18 locations
Stages, studios, castings and red carpets. Every place has an audience and someone behind the scenes, which makes questions about lights, applause and nerves especially revealing.
Locations: Film set, Circus, Concert, TV studio, Runway, Museum, Stand-up, Studio, Magic show, Casting, Musical, Backstage, Photo studio, Radio, Awards, Talk show, Ballet, Karaoke.
History · 18 locations
A trip through time: pyramids, knights, pirate ships, the Titanic and the Cossack Sich. Agents can hint at the era without naming it, and the spy has to guess not only the place but also the century.
Locations: Pirate ship, Castle, Pyramid, Saloon, Colosseum, Drakkar, Temple, Tournament, Dojo, Alchemy, Gold rush, Bunker, Airship, Palace, Titanic, Pompeii, Sich, Mansion.
Space · 12 locations
Orbital stations, the Moon, Mars and a black hole. A short but tricky theme: many places share zero gravity, suits and silence, so agents have to find details that tell one place from another.
Locations: Space station, Moon, Mars, Spaceport, Observatory, Mission control, UFO, Planetarium, Asteroid, Shuttle, Space hotel, Black hole.
Nature · 16 locations
Jungles, deserts, glaciers and volcanoes. There are no buildings and few people, so good questions are about temperature, sounds, animals and what could kill you there.
Locations: Jungle, Desert, Antarctica, Everest, Cave, Waterfall, Swamp, Forest, Canyon, Ocean, Glacier, Oasis, Volcano, Reef, Steppe, Tundra.
Ukraine · 20 locations
Places every Ukrainian recognizes instantly: the marshrutka, the dacha, a village wedding, grandma’s house and the parcel pickup point. Perfect for friends who share the same memories, and hard for a spy who does not.
Locations: Bazaar, Marshrutka, Dacha, Wedding, Station, Dorm, Christening, Service center, Kindergarten, Stairwell, Banya, Fair, Tavern, Carpathians, Grandma's, Commuter train, Apiary, Parcel point, Feast, Farm.
School · 16 locations
Lectures, exams, the canteen, prom night and summer camp. Everyone remembers school, so this theme is great for mixed groups, and questions about teachers, bells and cheat sheets land every time.
Locations: Lecture, Exam, Canteen, Prom, Locker room, Staff room, PE, Chemistry, School bus, Olympiad, Field trip, Summer camp, Dean's office, Campus, Music class, Tutoring.
Crime · 14 locations
The dark side of the city: prisons, hideouts, crime scenes and the black market. A fitting theme for a noir game, where every answer already sounds a little suspicious.
Locations: Prison, Morgue, Interrogation, Pawn shop, Hideout, Crime scene, Black market, Heist, Agency, Speakeasy, Catacombs, Hacker den, Trial, Parking.
Work · 14 locations
Call centers, factories, start-ups, mines and bakeries. Questions about shifts, bosses, salaries and uniforms help agents recognise each other, while the spy tries to sound tired in a believable way.
Locations: Call center, Construction, Factory, Warehouse, Startup, Mine, Bakery, Newsroom, Farm, Delivery, Data center, Port, Workshop, Beauty salon.
Sport · 14 locations
Stadiums, pools, ice rinks, chess tournaments and the Olympics. Ask about equipment, scores and the smell of the place. Sports fans will be tempted to say too much.
Locations: Stadium, Pool, Ice rink, Boxing, Tennis, Golf, Race track, Climbing, Shooting range, Marathon, Basketball, Chess, Olympics, Bowling.
Food · 14 locations
Pizzerias, sushi bars, breweries and street food. Everything here has a taste, a smell and a price, which gives agents plenty of safe hints and gives the spy plenty of ways to slip up.
Locations: Pizzeria, Sushi bar, Patisserie, Burger joint, Brewery, Food court, Shawarma, Ice cream, Steakhouse, Wine tasting, Street food, Cooking show, Donut shop, Tea house.
